www.campaignforliberty.com/MoreGovernmentWon'tHelp-Statement before the House of Representatives, Sept 23, 2009 By Ron Paul
Texas congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul has exposed the core truths behind everything threatening America, from the real reasons behind the collapse of the dollar and the looming financial crisis, to terrorism and the loss of our precious civil liberties. Despite a media blackout, this septuagenarian physician-turned-congressman sparked a movement that has attracted a legion of young, dedicated, enthusiastic supporters... a phenomenon that has amazed veteran political observers and made more than one political rival envious. Candidates across America are already running as "Ron Paul Republicans." www.ronpaul.com/ is maintained by independent grassroots supporters of Ron Paul.

Uh oh, a new Voldemort discussion begins... Oh boy, this will be interesting... If ya thought fuckin' Cramer turned this place upside down... Woo! But ya know, Charlie, most of the Paul hate came from Peachy. I never really thought Paul was so horrible a politician. I even LOVE a lot of his idealism. My big concerns about that idealism is that it's straight up unrealistic. Stuff like abolishing the Federal Reserve and IRS. I'm ALL for that. Indeed, those would be MASSIVE GARGANTUAN leaps forward in our evolution as a nation of PEOPLE, as opposed to corporations. But it's NEVER gonna happen. And IF he ever tried to actually move toward that, he'd be dead in not more than 3 seconds. Well, JFK lasted 5 months after signing Executive Order 11110 (beginning of the end of the Fed), so maybe Paul would last a few months as well. So what I'd like to know is who the VP would be cuz that's our REAL President after Paul gets offed. Hhhmmm... Paul/Palin 2012... PP is right! That's what I'm doing in my pants right now!

I agree. I like a lot of things Ron Paul has to say, I just don't think they're realistic. In addition, a recent problem, it seems that many Repubs are starting to call themselves Libertarian.... I think he has a lot of new wingnut / teaparty followers. For instance, if you live in Texas you would see a lot of this, but if you live in NY or LA you might see a strong following of Paul supporters in college kids fed up with the system and relating to his message. I know a lot of Liberals / Dems who supported Ron Paul this past election. 7, you and I have a very similar view on this. Anyone who says anything against Obama's policies are not seen as Liberal. But I don't see Obama as being liberal in a lot of his policies...especially economic policy. Dems used to be for the little guy. His economic team are certainly NOT for the little guy. There seems to be so much confusion right now over what is conservative and what is liberal. I just watched Michael Moore on Larry King. A lot of what he's saying is not liberal or conservative...it is just "right" or "wrong" and is a very similar view to mine. As for Ron Paul....bring it on!!! Can't wait. The Audit the Fed thread will surely start back up again...fun times!

I don't know, but that was a VERY good way to put it. Now, however, I think there is still the truly Libertarian base with a flood of republicans who realize that the word "republican" has been tainted so bad that it may as well be spelled "E-C-O-N-O-M-I-C S-U-I-C-I-D-E." Lol, to state the obvious...

Oh, pppfffttt. Lol. Obama is SO not a Dem. And I feel the terms "liberal" and "conservative" have really been misnomers for a LONG time. Repbulicans, particularly neo-cons, are borderline and even occasionally straight-up radicals! There is nothing conservative about dragging a black guy behind yer pick-up. Or blowing a country that didn't deserve ANY aggression to bits. Or believeing wholeheartedly in some sky spirit with NO tangible evidence. Such things are not conservative. Conversely, fighting to get everyone, black/white, gay/straight, whatever covered by decent HC seems pretty conservative to me. And fighting to have gays and straights considered truly equally human also seems pretty conservative to me. Yet these are two of the battles of the supposedly liberal Democrats. The two parties we have truly have evolved into the Rational Party and the Irrational Party. I'll let you figure out which is which. However, yin yang and all, they each cross each other over in certain areas. But generalities being one of my favorite things, I stand by those 2 party names. Indeed though, I do see a third party emerging. The Tea Party...
