Was wondering if anyone working on the show ever checks the forums. If they do, perhaps they'd raise the embargo on Jon et al currently imposed on Ireland. The country next door (Britain - the guys that no longer own Ireland) have a channel called Channel 4 that streams The Daily Show to UK viewers only. The Daily Show "Full Episodes" page tells Irish viewers that they can watch the show through Channel 4... We can't. We like the Daily Show. We've got screwed up politics and NO BLOODY satire of our own, so please let us have a look at yours!!! Is that too much to ask? We're only small. You'll never know we're here. So, on behalf of a comedy-starved Irish people, stop blocking our IP address and give us the JON! Thank you very much, Bríd

Hi, Thanks for to both of you for your reply. That url hasn't worked for non UK users for several months now. The problem is this - broadcasting legislation in Britain has changed and Channel 4 no longer provides online service to non-UK IP addresses. The Daily Show is still carried by Channel 4 but people in Ireland can't watch it. However, the Daily Show website still thinks that the Irish audience is catered to by Channel 4. We have essentially fallen between two stools Channel 4 can't let Irish users of the 4oD service (to which I was a subscriber for several years) see ANY programming anymore, and the Daily Show website thinks we're still getting access to the show through Channel 4. All I'm asking is that Irish users should have the same access to the Daily Show as the rest of Europe. If you know of any way to lobby the show to get them to change their coding to accept Irish viewers, that's be fantastic! Bríd

brid Knew that the BBC banned foreign nationals from viewing their content but did not know that the commercial channels had also. NOTE TO THE DAILY SHOW. Please remove the block you have in place for Great Britain and allow Ireland to access your archives

The Daily Show wrote:
Yesterday, April 28, we restricted access to full episodes of The Daily Show for several countries outside of the U.S. We did so at the request of the content licensees who control the television broadcast rights to the show in those respective territories. We want to make it clear that we hear you, the Daily Show fans. We read your posts and comments on the boards. And given the very reasonable user feedback you've posted, we fully appreciate that fans of the show outside of the U.S. want access to full episodes. Regrettably, the nature of international licensing makes that extremely complicated.
Please know that Comedy Central will continue to work with local TV broadcasters around the globe in hopes of granting access to these episodes in your country. In the meantime, you still have access to the rest of TheDailyShow.com, including these forums.
Thanks for your understanding.

For the Brits and Irish, just do what the Aussies do - namely, trick your proxy settings. Google "how to watch the Daily Show from outside the US" for a dummy guide. Takes 2 minutes and works a bit slowly at first but, it works. Greetings from Spain (Why have we come to enjoy so much this daily dose of 'what's going on in the US?' Kudos to Jon Stewart and all the proffesionals that make the show!)
