Nice try dcmdart. Our model of parliamentary democracy will survive even the machinations of the cowardly PM Harper who hides behind the skirts of the GG because he will lose a confidence vote in the *elected* House of Commons. Some 'Coup'. It will also survive the incompetent Liberal leadership. Harper's egregious bullying has divided the country and will likely cause his Government to be thrown in the garbage like piece of old toast. Some political mind he's got there. The 'coalition' is an agreement between the centrist Liberal Party and the leftist NDP. The sovereigntist Bloc has merely agreed to support the coalition because they too recognize an incompetent government. Some economic stimulus! A joke! When these same 'separatists' propped up Harper's minority Konservatif Government for years they weren't so bad were they? They will likely defeat the government on a motion of non-confidence. To listen to your 'bill' thingy is to wonder if you understand the system of government we have in Canada. Your disparaging remarks about the Bloc (whom I disagree with strongly) is merely language the PM and his mouthbreathers have used to inflame all Quebecers of both federalist and sovereigntist camps. You must be a Konservatif backbencher. There won't be a Konservatif one for a generation or two after the PM's demagoguery the other night. As for the Leader of the Oppostion, the hapless Dion, he is an amateur right out of the Gong Show. Your scheming PM Harper has played right into the hands of the so-called 'Stooges'. How dumb is that? The democratic fact is that the entire Canadian Parliament is united against the bully. Too bad for Harper he has a minority government. Dion will be gone in a few weeks - certainly before the session begins. Good riddence. The cowardice of PM Harper is unprecedented constitutionally. His lying in Parliment was breathtaking- and I mean flat out lying. Stunning really. Notwithstanding the public support he undoubtedly has at the moment - he is toast. Some calculation. Brilliant mind he has <sarcasm> For a good summary of what's happened Don Newman's column is enlightening. I'd hardly call him a separatist leftie - but he paints an accurate picture I think. Certainly moreso than than what we see here above. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/12/05/f-vp-newman.html
