I don't know about the public option, but I'm pretty damn sure that
if you let health insurers collude together in private to set prices,
then they'll do it. In all I've heard in this health care
debate, the notion that it's OK for insurance companies to get together
behind closed doors and set prices together is the most disturbing
thing I've heard. No wonder the free market competition thing's not working. They're, apparently, in legal collusion. Or something like that. If
only one thing gets done, I sincerely hope they repeal this bizarre
legal right given to health insurance companies, because it just might
